The nominations filed by the five candidates including Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu for the biennial elections to Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh have been found to be valid.
Prabhu (BJP), Union Minister Y S Chowdary (TDP), T G Venkatesh (TDP), V Vijaysai Reddy (YSRCP) and his wife V Sunanda Reddy (YSRCP) have filed the nominations.
All nominations were found to be valid after scrutiny, a release from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer said.

The elections are being held to fill four vacancies. The ruling TDP-BJP can win three seats, while the opposition YSRCP can win one, according to their respective numbers in the Assembly.
YSRCP has fielded party leader Vijaysai Reddy as its candidate and his wife has filed the papers as a dummy candidate which she would later withdraw, the party has said.
