YSR Congress Party leader Sharmila today completed 2,000 km of journey in her 'padyatra' (march) launched last October, in West Godavari district today.
Sharmila, sister of YSRCP president Jaganmohan Reddy, completed 2,000 km of march at Ravikampadu village in West Godavari, where she unveiled a statue of the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to mark the occasion.
The march, called 'Maro Praja Prasthannam', started from YSR family estate at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district on October 18, and has so far covered 68 assembly constituencies in 10 districts.
She had to break it off in December due to a leg injury, before resuming. Highlighting the welfare schemes launched by the late Rajasekhara Reddy as Chief Minister, she has been critical of the ruling Congress for failing to implement them effectively. She has also been hitting out at the main opposition TDP.
