AP: Street lights in local bodies to have LED bulbs soon

Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) Chairman Justice G Bhavani Prasad today said street lights in all municipalities and panchayats will have LED bulbs soon.

Prasad launched distribution of LED bulbs for public at a concessional price of Rs 10 at Challapalli village in Krishna district.

He said, "all street lights in all Municipalities and Panchayats will have LED bulbs in phased manner".

AP Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, who was also present said so far 57 lakh LED bulbs were distributed in the state at Rs 10 a bulb.

He further said all 92,000 street lights in Visakhapatanam have been installed with LED bulbs.
