Andhra Pradesh government plans to develop Nellore and Chittoor as automobile hubs and has invited German companies to set up shop in the state.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today shared the plan when Gujjula Ravindra Reddy, former Mayor of German town Altlandsberg, met him here and discussed investment opportunities for German companies in Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Minister briefed Reddy about the potential available for German automobile companies in the state, which is aggressively positioning itself as industry-friendly.

"In Sri City (close to AP-Tamil Nadu border), we have automobile companies like Isuzu. Hero MotoCorp will also be setting up a facility in the state," he said.

Naidu said he is interested to see German automobile firms setting up shop in the state. "We're also interested in Germany's technology expertise."

Reddy enquired about the opportunities in new capital city planned in Vijayawada region.

The Chief Minister explained how the state could become a logistics hub for South East Asia and serve neighbouring markets.

Meanwhile, Reddy invited the Chief Minister to visit Germany and interact with investors there.
