"Around 400 victims of human trafficking are rehabilitated in 10 Ujjawala homes across Andhra Pradesh. We are now planning to have one rehabilitation home in each district to give proper care to trafficking victims," Women Development and Child Welfare Department's Principal Secretary Nilam Sawhney said.

Speaking after inaugurating a national conference on `Reducing Gender Disparities Across States in India' at the Administrative Staff College here, she said state government had come up with a comprehensive policy for anti-trafficking.

Ujjawala Scheme is a central government programme with the objective to prevent trafficking of women and children.

The AP government has earmarked Rs 63 crore this year towards cash transfer for girl children to reduce discrimination, she said, adding that the department was working on nutrition policy to reduce the infant mortality.
