AP to set up ten more marine police stations along coast

Andhra Pradesh DGP J V Ramudu today said ten more marine police stations will come up in the state along coast.

"A proposal to raise more marine police stations and marine police battalions was sent to the Central government. The Centre recently sanctioned 32 marine boats for Andhra Pradesh," the DGP said.

Ramudu said only four marine police stations will be inaugurated this year.

"A Marine Training Centre will be coming to Machilipatnam soon (and) land allotment for which has been finalised," the top cop said.

Ramudu said various vacant positions in the state police department will be filled shortly.
 

He inaugurated a gymnasium and a park at police grounds here.
