"We have decided to launch the second phase of indefinite hunger strike in support of our six-point charter of demands for Kashmiri Pandits, in January 2013," Kashmir in-charge of All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) Sandeep Bhat told reporters here.
The major demands of APMCC include setting up of a board for temples and religious properties in Jammu and Kashmir, dialogue with Pakistan for facilitating visit to Shardha Peeth in POK and establishment of Shardha Peeth University in the state, he said.
The protest would be held either at Porbandar in Gujarat or Srinagar, he said adding, the date would be announced soon.
Letters to this effect have already been dispatched to the President, Prime Minister, all the Chief Ministers, ministers, MPs and MLAs of the state and the country to seek their support on the issue, he said.
In October 2011, APMCC Chairman Vinod Pandit had been on a 10-day fast unto death and after the assurance of state Medical Education Minister R S Chib to take up the issue with state government, he called off the protest, Bhat said.
However, since then the issue has been left ignored by the state government, he said.
"As the state government has failed to fulfil its commitment, we will stage a protest at either Srinagar or Porbandar, the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi as the organisation follows his path and principles," Bhat said.
Passing of the Temples and Shrines Bill for J&K in state Assembly, probe into the multi-crore temple and shrines land encroachment, special employment package for Non-Migrant Hindus of Kashmir Valley are among the other key demands of the organisation, he said.
