Apna Dal MP Anupriya Patel today accused Mulayam Singh Yadav of trying to create problems in the party, alleging that the Samajwadi Party chief does not want any backward caste leader to come in the forefront of Uttar Pradesh politics.
"Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav does not want any backward caste leader to come in the forefront in UP politics... What he did with Kalyan Singh is before everyone," Anupriya said.
The Apna Dal leader, who was recently dismissed as party's national general secretary by her mother and party president Krishna Patel, asked,"how can a person (Yadav) who used leaders like VP Singh and Kalyan Singh for his political gains tolerate any other backward leader from progressing."

Following a row over the appointment of Pallavi, Anupriya Patel's elder sister, as vice president of the party, Krishna Patel had last month removed Anupriya from the post of national general secretary.
