Apna Dal (Sonelal), an ally of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, will observe the 67th death anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first deputy Prime Minister of the country, at every district headquarter in the state tomorrow, the party said today.

This was decided in the recently held monthly review meeting of the party, which met for the first time after the results of the Uttar Pradesh urban local bodies' elections, party spokesperson Arvind Sharma said.

"The current scenario in which divisive forces are trying to damage the unity and integrity of India, Sardar Patel and his vision become all the more relevant. We draw inspiration from him and his achievements to combat the divisive forces in the country," he said.

Sharma hailed Patel for his efforts for the unity and integration of the country.

"For us Sardar Patel is not only a political leader, but a constant source of inspiration. The stellar role played by him in integrating the country is commendable," he said.
