The Andhra Pradesh Non Gazetted Government Employees Association (APNGOs) today threatened to launch an agitation if the state government fails to announce pay revision for its staff at the earliest.

"Telangana government has announced a pay revision for its employees, but Andhra Pradesh government is delaying the decision in this regard saying that the state has been facing financial crisis," APNGOs Krishna district president A Vidyasagar told reporters here.

"At the time of the Re-organisation Bill passing in Rajya Sabha, both the Congress as well as the BJP had promised to support Andhra Pradesh to meet the financial deficit through additional allocations.

"However, even after the bifurcation of the state, the Centre has not initiated the process to provide additional funds to remove Andhra Pradesh from the financial crisis," he said.

Blaming the BJP leaders for the delay, Vidyasagar urged the Centre to immediately allocate additional funds to save Andhra Pradesh from financial crisis.

"If this fails to happen, we will launch an agitation," he added.
