Apollo Sugar Clinics, a diabetes care-focused chain from the Apollo Hospitals Group, today said it has plans to expand to 300 clinics in the next 3 years across the country.
"Presently, Apollo Sugar has 52 clinics, of which, 11 clinics are based out of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Apollo Sugar plans to expand to 300 clinics in the coming 3 years and the expansion plan will also include active tie-ups with hospitals and also individual doctors in Tier-II cities and rural areas," Gagan Bhalla, CEO, Apollo Sugar told reporters here.
The healthcare brand is also looking forward to working with 1500 to 2500 MBBS, MD General Practioners delivering diabetes and endocrine care at affordable prices through its flagship annual programme called Sugar 360 in Tier - 2 cities and rural areas, he said.

He further said "From 1 lakh screenings that we have done in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh alone, we have found prevalence of diabetics and pre-diabetics in these two states to be 25 per cent more as compared to national average of 18 per cent."
On the upcoming budget, he said "We would like to see greater investment in health care" and stressed on the need for increased focus on preventive care.
