Relishing north India's delicacy 'Liiti Chokha' is now just a click away with a city-based start-up launching a mobile app 'Littoo' and a website offering the food item.

The app, founded by Pankaj Jaiswal, was launched by Devendra Bhujbal, Director, Information and Public Relation Maharashtra Government and Uttar Pradesh Regional Tourism Officer on the eve of Republic Day.

The famous cuisine of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh is a traditional dish made up of stuffed whole wheat dough balls with stuffing of spices mixed roasted gram flour or 'sattu'.

Jaiswal said he observed that there is a demand for the popular dish outside UP and Bihar and no market to offer it. And it was then the idea to open an online venture crossed his mind to make the food item available in different parts of the country and abroad.

"Litti chokha has not made it to the national and international market so far. There are about 25 crore people of UP and Bihar, who love this food and miss it in whichever cities they are. This endeavour will fill this gap," he said.

He said initially they have plans to connect seven outlets in the city to link it with one food factory.

The future plans include opening the service in cities Pune, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and in abroad like Mauritius, Fiji, Trinidad, Thailand, Guld nations where native of UP and Bihar have migrated.
