The Aam Aadmi Party said today that it would support an agitation by farmers next month in Rajasthan over their several demands, including waiving of loans and increase in the minimum support price for their produce.
More than 170 organisation under the banner of Rashtriya Kisan Mahasabha and Aam Kisan Union have announced to agitate across the country over the demands from June 1-10.
The farmers have vowed to not visit mandis during the protest, and instead sell their produce at village markets, AAP national spokesperson Ashish Khetan told reporters.
He said they have sought AAP's support in Rajasthan.
Khetan said the AAP has urged its volunteers to help the farmers make the protest successful in the state.
The party is supporting the agitation in Rajasthan, where it will mobilise its volunteers to work at the ground-level with the farmers, Khetan said.
AAP functionaries from Rajasthan attended Khetan's press conference and spoke about problems faced by farmers.
