Traders wing of Aam Aadmi Party today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to increase import duty on Chinese products even as it appealed its fellow community members to not import goods from a "hostile" country.

They also held protest march from Town Hall in Chandani Chowk to Lal Qila against the use of Chinese products.

"China supports Pakistan which has been perpetrating terror in India. It is doing so because of its sheer economic and military might. If we stop using Chinese products it will create awareness among people and China can feel the pinch," AAP's Traders Wing convenor Brijesh Goyal said.

"The trade imbalance between India and China is huge. We also urge the Prime Minister to impose a heavy import duty on Chinese products in order to minimise imports from the country," Goyal added.

He said it was also upon the traders to minimise Chinese imports and focus on self-reliance.
