Application seeking compliance of Green Tribunal's order moved

The application was filed by Jal Biradri, a movement aimed at protecting rivers from being polluted.

The application, filed on the World Environment Day, demanded action against errant GDA officials, an activist of the Jal Biradri said.

In its April 18 order, the NGT directed the authorities to prohibit dumping of any material in Hindon river in view of alarming deterioration of its flora and fauna endangering the environment.

GDA Vice-Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav told PTI he would ask the officials for clarification.
