The municipal corporations of the city today told the Delhi High Court that they have paid salaries for April to June to all 'safai karamchaaris' on their payroll, but not its other employees.

The submission was made by the corporations before a bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal which was hearing three PILs seeking payment of salaries to safai karamchaaris employed with the MCDs.

Meanwhile, Delhi government counsel Rahul Mehra told the bench that a proposal has been placed before the AAP government's cabinet with regard to disbursement of municipal reform fund (MRF) even to those corporations which have not performed well.

Currently, MRF is disbursed to those MCDs which perform well and this year, it was given to south MCD only and not to the other two corporations.

Mehra said the new policy would be a "deviation from earlier pattern".

In view of the submissions, the court disposed of the PILs and said it would later pass common orders on all of them.

The court had on May 27 said it was not concerned with the dispute between the AAP government and the BJP-led three municipal corporations in the city and only wanted that all employees of the civic bodies get their salaries.

The court had earlier directed the civic bodies to pay regular salaries to safai karamcharis "on or before 7th of every month" for smooth functioning of the corporations, whose employees have been frequently go on strike due to non-payment of salaries.
