Apurva Purohit appointed President at Jagran Group

Music Broadcast Ltd, which operates private FM channel Radio City, today said its CEO Apurva Purohit has been appointed as President - Jagran Group.

Leading media group Jagran Prakashan Ltd (JPL) in June this year had completed the acquisition of Music Broadcast.

Purohit would oversee business operations and functioning of Midday, Inext, Jagran online and other print and non-print businesses besides Radio city, said a joint statement.

Besides, certain functional areas of the core business of Dainik Jagran shall also be part of scope of her work, it added.

Commenting on the development Apurva Purohit said: "The Jagran group today stands at the threshold of a historic leap as it expands its footprint to access audiences across various demographics, geographies and distribution technologies. I am very happy to be part of this momentous journey".
 

JPL Director Shailesh Gupta said: "She joins us at a time when the Jagran group readies itself to build further on its existing core businesses, and capitalize on the opportunities that are lie ahead in a media environment that's being supercharged with digital, data and technology."

Purohit has 25 years of experience in the media sector.

Prior to it, she has worked with BCCL & Zee Telefilms.

JPL runs leading Hindi daily Dainik Jagran. Apart from this, group's publications include Midday, Naiduniya, I-Next, City Plus and Punjabi Jagran.
