AR Rahman is big fan of Vishal Bharadwaj's work

The Academy Award winner AR Rahman said he is a big fan of filmmaker-music director Vishal Bharadwaj's work and picks "Omkara" as latter's one of the best works.

"I have seen 'Omkara' properly. I don't have patience ...I usually do fast forward and see but 'Omkara' I watched fully. I loved the art, the way he directed, music. I have liked his work in 'Maachis' as well," Rahman told reporters here at a promotional event of upcoming film "Jugni".

"I am a big fan of him and his work. He is a great person... Artist. I am excited to be here," he said.
 

Released in 2006, "Omkara" was a crime-drama adapted from Shakespeare's 'Othello'. Beside directing the film, Vishal composed the music for the film, including the background score with lyrics by Gulzar.

"Maachis", directed by Gulzar, had Vishal's music which was one of the film's highlights.

Debutant director Shefali Bhushan has managed to bring two of the biggest names in Hindi music industry - Rahman and Bhardwaj - on board to sing one track each in her directorial debut, "Jugni".

There is one prayer song sung by Rahman, 'Lakhon Salaam', penned and composed by Kashif.

The film boasts of a 12-track album composed by Clinton Cerejo.

"Jugni" is slated to release on January 22, 2016.
