ARC Shillong move to the finals defeating RFC Kolkata

Assam Regimental Centre (ARC), Shillong stormed into the finals of the First All India Anu Anand Cup Prize money Football Tournament defeating Railway Football Club (RFC), Kolkata 2-0 in the first semi-final match here at the Moin-ul-haque stadium today.

RFC, Kolkata dominated the game in the first half creating a couple of clear chances, but Anjay Dey's shot was blocked by ARC keeper Kolauh Puia. A few scoring chance were wasted due to poor finishing.

First half ended goalless 0-0.

After both teams failed to break the deadlock in a barren first half, ARC came back strongly in the second session and pumped two goals.
 

Striker C Lalmalsawma opened the account in the 47th minute with a nice header after getting a long pass from Alwyn, while R Lalrammawia completed the tally in the 73rd minute, dogging past two defenders in the goal area.

The game witnessed some rough play forcing Referee Kailash Prasad to show a red card to RFC skipper Sukumar Roy in the 85th minute.
