A two-member team of the Archaeological department examined the stone idol of Lord Parshavnath, which will be taken to Chandigarh to study its antiquities.
The team, headed by Deputy Director of the department Ranbir Singh, reached here yesterday.
After examining the idol, the team went to the field of Didoli village, from where the idol was found when the field was being ploughed on May 22.

After a survey of the field, the team returned to Rewari where Singh informed that the idol would now be taken to Chandigarh where its antiquity would be studied.
The idol's origination and future prospects would also be deliberated upon, Singh said.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the local Jain Samaj, led by its president Santosh Kumar Jain, met Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg here yesterday and submitted a memorandum seeking possession of the idol.
The DC, however, said that since the matter now lay in the hands of the state government and the Archaeological department, they would have to approach the authorities concerned to seek possession of the idol.
