Marking 50 years its raising, One Strike Corps of Indian Army here inaugurated a heritage building- an archive to relive the glorious history of its services to the nation.
"Three Paramvir Chakras, 16 Mahavir Chakras and 71 Vir Chakras, virtually, are the witness that raised in 1965, One Strike has made tremendous progress in every field. Any evil design can not face 1 Strike", Lieutenant General (Retd) A K Singh, the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman, Nicobar Island said after inaugurating The Heritage, Strike 1 Archive at core headquaters.
The archive was envisioned by Strike 1 General Officer Commanding (GoC) Lieutenant General AB Shivane.

One Strike Corps, the military field formation of the Indian Army was created in 1965 and took part in 1971 war against Pakistan as well.
"It has established such a reputation that nobody can stand before it", said Singh, also a former core commander of Strike I during 2009 to 2011.
A museum is established as a heritage site, where one can relive the history of One Strike Corps, learn about its glorious past and pay homage to the great martyrs, said Singh.
The event was preceded by the release of photo books of 1965 and 1971 wars and the felicitations ceremony of the war veterans, many of whom have taken part in 1965 and 1971 wars.
The design of the building was conceived by Major General V Nangia, Chief of Staff, Strike 1. The Heritage comprises a central octagon-shaped structure with two rectangular flanks. The pictorial history of 1965 Indo-Pak war is laid out on the left flank while the history of 1971 Indo-Pak war is laid out on the right.
