Areas of concern at airport area discussed

Airfield Environment Management Committee here today discussed various areas of concern like disposal of garbage, illegal slaughter house and closing of nullah passing through the International Airport here.

A presentation with regard to bird strikes and way to deal about it was given by Pal Manickam, Air Port Director, Coimbatore, at the meeting, chaired by the District Collector, Archana Patnaik.

Archana instructed to the local authorities to work out the possible assistance from the Government side in this regard.

It was decided to carry out a joint inspection with officials from Airports Authority of India and District Aurhorities every fortnight to assist the remedial action taken.
 

The representatives from Indian Air Force, Sulur, highlighted the environmental issue in that area.

Senior officials from Health, Revenue, Airport, Corporation and AAI participated in the meeting.
