Argentinian filmmaker Pablo Cesar says he is set to direct a film based on the life of Rabindranath Tagore titled "Thinking Of Him" and wants Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah to play the titular role.

Cesar, best known for his films "Banks", "Hunabku", "Blood", "Aphrodite, the garden of perfumes" and "Unicorn, garden fruit", says he is very eager to cast Shah as he feels he will be able to do justice with it.

"The film will be based on the life and times of Rabindranath Tagore. It will be shot in Shantiniketan and Argentina from February next year. I am planning to go to Mumbai to meet Naseeruddin Shah and discuss the prospects of getting him on board to play the role of Tagore," Cesar said on the sidelines of IFFI.

The film will be partly in colour to depict the present times and partly in black to depict the flashbacks. Cesar says Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray and Shyam Benegal are held in very high esteem in his home country Argentina.

"No one is really aware of the new crop of filmmakers from India. To acquaint the audiences in Argentina with the works of the new Indian director, the National Film Institute of Argentina is planning to organise a film festival that will showcase the choicest Indian films in different languages," he said.

Cesar says he derives inspiration to make movies from Indian cinema scene and has been attending film festivals here for the last 20 years.
