Prices of arhar and gram advanced by up to Rs 500 per quintal per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on pick up in speculative buying activity.
Traders said speculative buying activity against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly kept arhar and gram prices higher.
In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety remained in demand and shot up by Rs 500 each to Rs 7,100 and Rs 9,800-11,500 per quintal respectively.
