Prices of arhar and gram firmed up to Rs 150 per quintal at the wholesale market today on emergence of buying by stockists against tight supplies from producing regions.
However, rajmah chitra eased on lack of demand at prevailing higher levels.
Marketmen said stockists buying after pick-up in demand from retailers against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly led to the rise in arhar and gram prices.

Gram, gram dal local and best quality were also enquired higher by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,850-3,750, Rs 3,650-3,850 and Rs 3,750-3,850 per quintal, respectively.
On the other hand, rajmah chitra met with resistance at existing levels and eased to Rs 4,500-8,200 against last close of Rs 4,800-8,500 per quintal.
