Arhar, its dal plunge Rs 500 quintal on muted demand

Weak conditions prevailed at the wholesale pulses market today as most of pulses led by arhar prices plunged by up to Rs 500 per quintal owing to slackened demand from retailers against sufficient stocks position.

Traders said besides sluggish demand from retailers at prevailing levels, ample stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts amid government's measures to check rising prices mainly kept pressure on arhar and other pulses prices.

In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety dropped by Rs 500 each to Rs 6,500 and Rs 9,300-11,000 per quintal.

Gram moved by Rs 200 to Rs 7,800-8,000, while its dal local and best quality traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 8,200-8,400 and Rs 8,500-8,600 per quintal. Kabli gram small variety eased by Rs 100 to Rs 9,300-9,700 per quintal.
 

Besign Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted lower at Rs 3,630 each instead of Rs 3,680 per 35 kg bag.

Urad lost Rs 200 at Rs 8,900-10,000 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best quality and dhoya enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 9,100-9,200, Rs 9,200-9,700 and Rs 9,600-9,900 per quintal respectively.

Moong and its dal chilka local moved by Rs 100 and Rs 150 each to Rs 4,900-5,400 and Rs 5,400-5,800 per quintal respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality traded lower by Rs 150 each to Rs 5,800-6,300 and Rs 6,300-6,500 per quintal.

Masoor small and bold declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,800-6,000 and Rs 5,850-6,050 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 6,250-6,750 and Rs 6,350-6,850 per quintal. Malka local and best quality followed suit and eased by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,900-7,200 and Rs 7,000-7,300 per quintal.

Urad Rs 8,900-10,000, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 9,100-9,200, Urad best Rs 9,200-9,700, Dhoya Rs 9,600-9,900, Moong Rs 4,900-5,400, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,400-5,800, Moong Dhoya local Rs 5,800-6,300 and best quality Rs 6,300-6,500.

Masoor small Rs 5,800-6,000, bold Rs 5,850-6,050, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,250-6,750, best quality Rs 6,350-6,850, Malka local Rs 6,900-7,200, best Rs 7,000-7,300, Moth Rs 4,800-5,200, Arhar Rs 6,500, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 9,300-11,000.

Gram Rs 7,800-8,000, Gram dal (local) Rs 8,200-8,400, best quality Rs 8,500-8,600, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 3,630, Rajdhani Rs 3,630, Rajma Chitra Rs 5,300-6,350, Kabuli Gram small Rs 9,300-9,700, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,400-5,600, Peas white Rs 3,400-3,425 and green Rs 3,600-3,700.
