Arhar, its dal slide on tepid demand

Arhar and its dal prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on muted demand from retailers.

However, other pulses moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said easing demand from retailers against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on arhar and its dal prices.

In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety moved down by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,900 and Rs 9,600-11,300 per quintal respectively.

Following are today's pulses rates (in Rs per quintal):

Urad Rs 8,200-9,300, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 8,400-8,500, Urad best Rs 8,500-9,000, Dhoya Rs 8,900-9,200, Moong Rs 5,000-5,500, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,500-5,900, Moong Dhoya local Rs 5,900-6,400 and best quality Rs 6,400-6,600.
 

Masoor small Rs 5,600-5,800, bold Rs 5,650-5,850, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,050-6,550, best quality Rs 6,150-6,650, Malka local Rs 6,800-7,100, best Rs 6,900-7,200, Moth Rs 4,400-4,800, Arhar Rs 6,900, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 9,600-11,300.

Gram Rs 8,000-8,200, Gram dal (local) Rs 8,400-8,600, best quality Rs 8,700-8,800, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 3,380, Rajdhani Rs 3,380, Rajma Chitra Rs 5,500-6,450, Kabuli Gram small Rs 9,100-9,500, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,400-5,600, Peas white Rs 2,900-2,925 and green Rs 3,100-3,200.
