Arhar, its dal weakens on muted demand

In restricted activity, arhar and its dal prices drifted by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market today owing to slackened demand from retailers at prevailing levels.

However, other pulses after moving in a narrow range in limited deals pegged at previous levels.

Marketmen said sluggish demand from retailers against sufficient stocks on increased supplies from producing regions led to the fall in arhar and its dal prices.

In the national capital, ahrar and its dal dara variety eased by Rs 100 each to Rs 8,200 and Rs 11,300-13,000 per quintal, respectively.
