Prices of arhar and a few other pulses firmed up by up to Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale market today on emergence of stockists buying following uptick in demand from retailers against tight stocks position.
Marketmen said stockists buying on the back of upsurge in demand from retailers amid restricted supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up arhar and a few other pulses prices.
In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety jumped up by Rs 300 each to Rs 8,200 and Rs 11,400-13,100 per quintal, respectively.
Urad and its dal chilka local moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 9,300-11,600 and Rs 10,100-10,300 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and traded higher by the same margin to Rs 10,200-10,800 and Rs 10,600-11,000 per quintal.
Masoor small and bold also went up by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,100-5,500 and Rs 5,250-5,550 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality were up by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,900-6,400 and Rs 6,000-6,500 per quintal.
Malka local and best quality gained Rs 200 each to Rs 6,150-6,650 and Rs 6,250-6,650 per quintal.
In line with overall trend, gram, gramdal local and best quality were enquired higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,700-5,200, Rs 4,920-5,220 and Rs 5,250-5,450 per quintal respectively.
Kabli gram small variety edged up to Rs 6,200-8,000 from previous level of Rs 6,000-7,850 per quintal.
Besin shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted higher at Rs 2,200 instead of Rs 2,180 per 35 kg respectively.
