Arhar, urad costlier on increased demand, tight arrivals

Led by arhar and urad, pulses prices continued to rise at the wholesale market in the national capital today on the back of increased offtake by stockists to meet rising demand from retailers amid fall in arrivals from growing belts.

Increased demand from mills too supported the upside in prices, traders said.

Traders said rise in pulses prices was mostly supported by

increased offtake by stockists coupled with rising demand from retailer.

Moreover, fall in arrivals from growing regions too influenced seledt pulses prices, they added.

Arhar and its dal dara variety continued to rise on the back of strong demand and prices went up by another Rs 100 each to Rs 4,300 and Rs 6,200-8,000 per quintal, respectively.
 

Urad edged up by Rs 50, to Rs 5,400-6,750 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best quality and dhoya too rose by a similar margin to trade at Rs 5,750-5,850, Rs 5,850-6,350 and Rs 6,250-6,450 per quintal, respectively.

Gram and its dal also traded higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,600-6,700 and Rs 6,700-7,100 per quintal.

Kabuli gram small rose by Rs 100 to Rs 9500-10,300 per quintal. Rajmah chitra also rose by a similar margin to Rs 7500-10,300 per quintal.

Following are today's pulses rates (in Rs per quintal):

Urad Rs 5,400-6,750, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 5,750-5,850, Urad best Rs 5,850-6,350, Dhoya Rs 6,250-6,450, Moong Rs 4,800-5,000, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,300-5,500, Moong Dhoya local Rs 5,900-6,400 and best quality Rs 6,400-6,600.

Masoor small Rs 4,100-4,400, bold Rs 4,150-4,500, Dal Masoor local Rs 4,600-5,100, best quality Rs 4,700-5,200, Malka local Rs 4,800-5,000, best Rs 4,900-5,100, Moth Rs 3,250-3,650, Arhar Rs 4,200, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 6,100-7,900.

Gram Rs 5,600-6,700, Gram dal (local) Rs 6,700-7,100, best quality Rs 7,100-7,200, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,650, Rajdhani Rs 2,650, Rajma Chitra Rs 7,500-10,300, Kabuli Gram small Rs 9,500-10,300, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,600-5,800, Peas white Rs 2,500-2,525 and green Rs 2,700-2,800.
