Two unidentified gunmen allegedly robbed a businessman of Rs two lakh and shot at his driver for resisting the robbery in Sahibabad area here today.
Sanjay Singhal, a resident of Raj Nagar who deals in dry food business, was returning home when the armed robbers intercepted his car and asked him and his driver Mohit to get out, a senior police officer said.
When Mohit resisted the robbery, the men shot at him and injured him. They then fled the spot with Sanjay's car which had a bag with Rs two lakh in it, he said.
The bag with the money was found missing when the car was later recovered at Shyama Park area, the officer said.
A case has been registered and investigation is on, he said.
