Armed men take away MUV carrying buffaloes in Pb

A Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV) carrying three buffaloes was taken away by a gang of five armed men who also snatched Rs 24,000 cash from the driver and helper at gunpoint in Ajitwal here, police said today.

In his complaint, Gurmeet Ram stated that he was driving to Ludhiana last night to sell the animals when at least five armed men intercepted him by stopping their vehicle in front of the MUV and firing in the air, they said.

They took away the vehicle along with the buffaloes and snatched Rs 24,000 cash from him and his helper at gunpoint, police said.
 

A case of dacoity has been registered and hunt is on to nab the accused.
