Armed miscreants loot Rs 3.57 lakh from UP trader

Armed miscreants waylaid a jaggery trader from Uttar Pradesh on NH 2 in Rohtas district and looted Rs 3.57 lakh from him today.

Rohtas Superintendent of Police Chandan Kumar Kushwaha said the incident happened when jaggery trader Akhilesh Kumar Kesarwani of Koshambi district in Uttar Pradesh was returning home after collecting his dues from a businessmen in Sasaram.

"Criminals in a SUV were trailing Kesarwani who was travelling in his car. They overtook him on NH - 2 near Darigaon police station, around 7 km from Sasaram town and fired three shots to stop him. They snatched the money from him and fled away," said the SP.
 

The police has sealed the main routes in the district and are conducting intensive search operation to nab the miscreants, the SP added.
