A group of armed miscreants today barged inside a cold storage in the Shaktigarh area of the district and looted cash and potato bonds worth lakhs of rupees from potato traders, the police said.

A group of around 15-20 miscreants armed with iron rods, sticks and firearms barged in the cold storage this evening and beat up several potato traders and staff of the cold storage facility, before looting cash and potato bonds worth several lakhs of rupees, said Priyabroto Bakshi, Inspector in-charge of Burdwan police station.

While fleeing, they exploded two bombs to terrorise the local people, he said.
