The incident occurred in Madina colony near Kho Nagoriyan area under Malviya Nagar police station in the wee hours.
Armed with sharp edged weapons, the robbers barged into the house of Mohammad Aleem and held his family members hostage.
"They robbed them of around Rs 30,000 in cash, earrings and jewellery of Aleem's wife", the police said, adding that nobody was injured in the incident.
