Arms, ammunition recovered from hideout in Rajouri district

Security forces have busted a militant hideout and recovered arms and ammunition in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, a police officer said.

The Kalakote based Rashtriya Rifles battalion of the army recovered arms and ammunition from general area Lal Thandapani Forest yesterday.

"Based on a specific input from reliable sources about presence of cache of arms and ammunition, the vigilant troops of Rashtriya Rifles, Kalakote carried out a detailed search operation resulting in the recovery of the cache," he said.

He said that during the search, One AK-56 assault rifle, Six AK magazines, 182 rounds of AK Ammunition, one Pakistan made 30 bore semi automatic pistol, a circuit box, two rounds of rocket propelled grenade, 10 Pika rounds and one ammunition pouch was recovered.
