An illegal arms dealer was arrested from south-west Delhi's Dwarka and 19 locally fabricated weapons and 20 live cartridges were seized from his possession, police said today.
Asad Ali (27), a resident of Meerut, was arrested yesterday by a team of Special Cell from Dwarka area. He was involved in illegal trade and supplying consignments of arms in various parts of western UP, Delhi and NCR, DCP (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said.
As many as 10 country made pistols, nine long barrel country made guns and 20 cartridges have been seized from his possession, the officer said.
Asad was earlier held on two occasions in UP last year for illegal possession of weapons, he said.
