Security forces today arrested a Manipur-based arms dealer from Meghalaya's East Garo hills district along with huge cache of arms and ammunition.
Based on intelligence report, police swung into action and intercepted a SUV which was carrying the arms consignment at Chinabat, a remote village in the district, police chief JFK Marak told PTI here.
The arms consignments were meant to be smuggled into Garo hills region for the terrorist outfit - Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA).

The arm smuggler identified as Beet Sangma from Dimapur has been arrested, while his other two aids, Takle and Kari Ao, managed to escape from the spot.
The police have launched an intensive operation to nab the duo.
