Arms, explosives seized from Naxal hideout

The squad was conducting a routine patrol in Kospundi forest area on Wednesday, when around 30 Naxals suddenly opened fire, police said.

The cadres disappeared into the forest when police retaliated in self-defence.

Police then conducted a search in the area and recovered two bicycles, a Chinese pistol with 6 live cartridges, a magazine, 100 grams of gun powder and other material from the spot.

Further investigations are on, police said.
