The two were held by the district police and army personnel on a tip off.
The arms supplier hailed from Bihar and had come to Assam to sell a 9 mm pistol. The men were apprehended from Dhalgaon town while finalising the deal, police said.
He had come to Assam earlier too to sell weapons, police said, adding that the interrogation of both accused is on.
