A 49-year-old man has been arrested for supply of illegal firearms and 10 pistols were seized from his possession, the police said today.

The police received an input yesterday about illegal arms suppliers coming to Jafrabad to deliver a huge cache of semi- automatic weapons to their contacts, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) P S Kushwah said.

A man came from Seelampur side and waited for someone to Jafrabad.

When he was about to leave since no one had turned up, the Special Cell personnel apprehended him, the officer said.

The accused was identified as Idrish alias Tunda, a resident of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. The police seized 10 semi-automatic sophisticated pistols with six spare magazines from him, he said.

He revealed that these weapons were collected by him from a manufacturer in Madhya Pradesh's Sendhwa and they were to be supplied to various contacts in the NCR and western UP.
