Army chief General Bipin Rawat visited the Central Command headquarters here today and was briefed about operational readiness of forces by Lieutenant General B S Negi, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the command.
In an official statement, a Defence PRO said, General Bipin Rawat was also briefed by Air Marshal SBP Sinha, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Central Air Command and formation commanders on various other operational aspects."
The Army chief expressed satisfaction on the efforts being made to ensure capability enhancement and operational effectiveness of the forces and development of infrastructure in the Central Command.
He conveyed his appreciation to the Surya Command for achieving a high degree of operational preparedness and synergising operations with the Indian Air Force (IAF).
Later, General Rawat interacted with the officers of the Central Command and exhorted them to be fully prepared to meet all contemporary and emerging challenges.
