The scooters were distributed at a function organised at the Transit Camp in Srinagar, which was attended by the families of beneficiaries and officials from the army and civil administration, he said.

"The smiles on the faces of these courageous people and the cheer it brings to their families, make our efforts every bit worthwhile," the spokesperson said.

The army has been regularly augmenting efforts of the government in providing durable, sophisticated and scientifically manufactured modern aids and appliances to those facing physical challenges, that can promote their physical, social and psychological rehabilitation by reducing the effects of disabilities and enhancing their economic potential, he added.
