Army flags off tour of Doda students to Delhi, Rajasthan

Army today flagged off an education-cum-motivational tour of students from remote areas of Doda District for Delhi and Udaipur.

"An education-cum-motivational tour for the boy students from remote areas of Doda District under Sadbhavana initiative was flagged off by General Officer Commanding (GOC), Delta Force for Delhi and Udaipur, today", Defence Spokesman said here.

The students will visit various places of historical, educational and cultural interest from 29 October to 07 November 14, he said adding that two teachers are accompanying the boy for the entire duration of the tour.

Before the flagging off ceremony, the students were addressed by GOC, Delta Force. He emphasised on the importance of acquainting students with the rich heritage and culture of our great country.
 

The tour will give them an opportunity to interact with people outside the state and deep insight of how peace and tranquillity in other parts of the country has ushered prosperity and development, he said.

The parents and teachers appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army in organising the tour which will broaden the horizon of the students and open their minds to a plethora of cultural wealth of the vast country as also to avenues of self development, he said.

The locals and officials of district administration expressed their gratitude towards Indian Army for their concerted efforts in providing an opportunity to these young, vibrant and impressionable minds from Doda.
