The Army is helping BSNL authorities to restore telecommunication infrastructure damaged due to incessant rains and landslides in Nagaland and Manipur.

An Army official said the Red Shield Division has provided high bandwidth optical fibre cable to BSNL for restoration of telecommunication infrastructure.

Army signallers are laying cable in the affected areas to restore communication.

The coordination and joint planning were done at the Dimapur-based Spear Corps who are helping restore communication to Zakhama, Kohima and Senapati districts.

Further restoration of services to remote areas along Imphal-Moreh road is under progress, the army official said.
