Army jawan cremated with full military honours in Jammu

The body of an Army jawan, who was killed in in an IED blast in Manipur, was today cremated with full military honours at his native village on the outskirts of the Jammu city.

Thirty-one-year-old Rifleman Sohan Lal of 18 Assam Rifles was among two jawans killed and six others injured when a suspected improvised explosive device exploded at Chandel town in Manipur's Chandel district on November 13.

The mortal remains of Lal was brought to his Pargalta village of Nagrota belt where local MP Jugal Kishore, local MLA Devender Rama and top Army officials paid tributes to the slain soldier.
 

A contingent of Army jawans reversed their fire arms and fired in the air as a mark of respect amid last bugle.

Several people from surrounding villages participated in the funeral.
