The deceased, identified as Pramod Kumar Singh (37), was posted at Lucknow and had come here to the in-laws family, Senior Superintendent of Police Ranjit Kumar Mishra said.
The jawan had left home last night saying he has to meet a friend but did not return.
The post-mortem report has revealed that he died due to consumption of some poisonous substance, the SSP said.
