An army jawan allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his house in Bringli village, police said today.
Police suspected that Surjit Singh took the extreme step yesterday due to strained relations with his wife.
Surjit got married Kiran Bala in 2004 and they used to have frequent quarrels.
A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against Kiran, police said.
