Army today organised a four-day goodwill empowerment tour for the war widows from the state.
The tour, organised under the aegis of Northern Command, will include visits to Golden Temple, Durgiana Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, Ram Tirth and Wagah Border in Amritsar, defence spokesperson Col S D Goswami said.
"The veer naris (war widows) will also visit other places of interest in and around Amritsar city, which includes visit to few regiments units of the Army," he said.
A total of 23 veer naris along with four attendants are taking part in this trip that would kindle the spirit of integration and inspire goodwill amongst them. The trip would conclude on April 20, he said.
