Bollywood actress Dia Mirza and cricketer-turned-politician Mohammad Azharuddin stole the limelight at a two-day Army youth festival 'Jashn-e- Baramulla', which began today in the north Kashmir town.
Being organised by Army, the event got off to an enthusiastic response and mass participation at Degree College Ground Baramulla, 55 kms from here, highlighting the "rapport between the Jawan and 'Awam' (people)," a defence spokesman said here.
"The enthusiastic response of the local population, including the youth, has once again highlighted the rapport between the jawan and the Awam", he said.

"Immediate Job placements offered to the Youth is fundamental in meeting aspirations of the talented Youth of the region," the spokesman said.
Dia Mirza interacted with the participants on 'Women Empowerment' issues while Mohammad Azharuddin on 'Youth Empowerment'.
Sufi Musical Concert by Shafi Sopori, Junaid Mir Group and Wasim Group, reflecting upon rich culture, traditions and values of Kashmiriyat added to the glitter of the day, the spokesman said.
General Officer Commanding, Dagger Division, Major Gen R P Kalita, in his address, emphasised upon the rich culture and history of Kashmir and lauded the hard work, resilience and peaceful nature of Kashmiris even in face of adversities.
"He also took the opportunity to exhort the Youth to channelise their energy towards nation building and betterment of the society," the spokesman said.
District Development Commissioner Nasir Ahmad Naqash and Senior Superintendent of Police Imtiyaz Hussain also attended the event along with various prominent personalities of Baramulla Town.
